The 639 square miles of An t-Eilean Sgitheanach, the Isle of Skye, comprise a series of bays and penisulas radiating out from the iconic Cuillin ranges roughly in the centre.
From Duirinish in the far north west, to Sleat in the far south east, the Island’s inhabitants live in small towns, fishing villages and remote crofting townships along a sparce network of roads, the main artery being the A87 Skye Bridge to Uig, with some of the most magnificent views on the planet.
It is along these miles of wiggly roads that wind around the sea lochs, mountains and moors, that a visitor can find one of the many small businesses which harvest, grow, produce, land and serve the wonderful variety and exceptional quality food and drink from the Isle of Skye.
For this year’s Festival, we have included a Food and Drink route for culinary visitors to discover just why Skye is considered by many to be a Gourmet Isle and a foodie’s paradise. This is a chance to meet and greet the people behind the produce, try, taste, buy and experience.
Whether it’s food, drink or accommodation you are looking for, the following list includes a selection of participating businesses to visit along the trail. We are constantly updating this list, so please don’t forget to check back regularly.
THE SKYE FESTIVAL FOOD & DRINK TRAIL There’s more … A number of businesses have joined the Festival trail a wee bit too late to be added to this year’s map. The Skye Food & Drink Festival is an unbiased, democratic and inclusive organisation that does not want to leave anyone out and will continue to add to the growing list. Although our newcomers are not listed by number for this year, you will find them in the following list under the area from which they operate. The Festival Food and Drink Trail
