Glendale Highland Market
Welcome to the award-winning Glendale Highland Market, the remotest farmers market in the UK.
The operation of the market, which takes place every Tuesday during the summer months in the grounds of the community hall, is run co-operatively by the stallholders.
Everything on sale has been grown or crafted with the quality and attention to detail that harks back to a previous age. Meet the wildly cosmopolitan cottage industry of the Glendale Estate and take home something that is truly unique.
An Airigh Market Garden, Robson & Murdie Croft Produce and Anthony Hovey’s, Skye Vegetables supply a wide range of extremely high quality produce including mooli, kale, potatoes, swiss chard, garlic, carrots, spring onions, sugar snap peas, with many more fruit, veg and herbs.
Other local stallholders include Skye Free Range who supply local free range chicken and rabbit, Greg Lane supplier of Moonen Bay lobsters which are ordered on the Tuesday and picked up live from the local pier the following day.
Crafts on offer include wood turning pieces, locally made hand crafted bespoke jewellery, and a wide range of art. Island Botanics founded by Catriona Canning and Diana MacPhee who grew up in Glendale, being surrounded by the native plants and herbs inspired them to start their amazing local soap business.
The Café inside the community hall serves tea, coffee, soft drinks, crisps, chocolate and home-made cakes as well as beautiful prepared to order bacon rolls.
